Please read these conditions carefully before using the Mela Mela website. By using this website, you signify your agreement to be bound by these conditions, and by placing an order are expressing that you have read and understood the terms therein.

Security & Order Confirmation

If you pay by credit or debit card, your details will be handled by Mela Mela on a secure server using encryption. While it is impossible for any web site to be completely impregnable to fraud, our system of a secure server and encryption offers a good level of security.

When you place an order to purchase a product we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product, which is accepted by us when we process payment for your order.

Post & Packaging

All orders will be despatched by First Class mail within the UK, and by airmail to all other destinations.

We need a valid Post Code. We will not send any order without one. If you provide an incorrect address, including the postcode, we do not accept any responsibility for the failure of an order to arrive.

We strive to despatch orders within 48 hours of receiving your payment, although this is not always possible; however, our customer services team will be in touch if this is the case.

Mela Mela operates a flat rate scheme for Postage and Packaging; please see the table below for details.

Damage & Tracing Parcels

In the event that your goods are damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt. If you fail to do this, or if goods have been signed for as received in good condition, we may not be able to offer a refund.

If products are not delivered please contact us for details of the tracking and tracing procedure. If orders are considered by us to be lost in transit we shall at our discretion refund the order.

When ordering goods from us for delivery overseas you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches the specified destination. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.

Prices & Product Details

All prices quoted are in Pound Sterling (£).

Prices include VAT at the current UK rate. Orders despatched to countries within the EU will be charged at the VAT inclusive price. Exports outside the EU will be charged net of VAT.

We cannot be held responsible for typographical errors on this site, including but not limited to those regarding price. We reserve the right to make changes to our web site including prices, products and terms and conditions without any notice being given.

All products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn from sale at any time.

Returns Policy

This returns policy applies to Website purchases only, and not to purchases made in person at the boutique.

Our items are vintage, and therefore pre-worn and pre-loved! Please bear this in mind when making your purchase. You are buying a piece of history! Therefore, naturally, the items are not flawless and may have slight blemishes. However, we at Mela Mela take great pains to point these out in the items description; please therefore review the description in full to be sure of its condition, and contact us at info@melamela.co.uk with any queries.

If the item does not reach you in the good condition you expect from reading the description, please contact us by email within 48 hours of signing for the item to inform us fully of the situation and if you require a refund; the item must then reach us within seven days. If you contact us or send the item  back after seven days, we are only able to issue a credit note. We will not refund the cost of postage and packaging.

If you wish to return an item in order to receive a gift voucher or to exchange, please bear the following in mind:

1. We require all original tags to be attached
2. We require all items to be unworn
3. We require all items to be returned in the same condition as they were received.
4. We require all items to be returned in a saleable condition.

Returns will not be accepted if:

1. you have removed the original tags
2. you have attempted to 're-attach' a label
3. the item appears in any way to have been worn, or has a discernable odour
4. the item is no longer saleable

NOTE TO CUSTOMERS

Please do not cut the tags off the items before trying them on, or attempt to 're-attach' the tags.

We also request that you do not try on the items if:

1. you are wearing perfume
2. you are in a smokey environment
3. you have just applied make up, body lotion, deodorant, or any other cosmetic item which is liable to stain or affect clothing.

If you do wish to return the item, please store the item in a secure area away from cooking, cigarette smoke or any other area where the item may obtain an odour, as we will not accept the item on its return.

We will issue gift vouchers or an exchange in accordance with your legal rights i.e. where goods are not of satisfactory quality, not as described or not fit for purpose. However in determining the above you must bear in mind that all of our products are vintage, previously owned and previously used. Their condition will reflect this. Goods must be returned within seven days of purchase, in their original packaging, with the original tags still attached.  You must notify us within 48 hours of signing for the item if you intend to return it.

In other instances, i.e. where you change your mind, goods must be returned within seven days of purchase, unworn and unused, in their original packaging, at the purchaser's expense. Please notify us within 48 hours of signing for the item if you intend to return it. We regret that for reasons of hygiene we are unable to refund underwear, swimwear and earrings. Refunds will be made by the issue of a gift voucher of the same value. Postage in either direction will not be refunded. Please quote your original order reference when returning goods. We recommend that you send the items by recorded mail, as we cannot be responsible for goods which fail to reach us. Gift Vouchers may be redeemed in person at our shop. Orders can also be made by post or telephone. The original Voucher must be received by us before the order is despatched. The value of the Voucher must cover both goods and postage costs. No change will be given against Gift Vouchers, but additional payment by cheque or credit card will be accepted. Gift Vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase.

We take your privacy very seriously and are committed to providing users with an Internet experience that respects your privacy.

When you make a purchase we need to collect certain information to process your transaction and fulfil your order. We do not sell, rent or disseminate this information to any third party for marketing or any other purposes.

We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information. All the data collected by us is stored on a secure server. The secure server software encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer to prevent any unauthorised access to your account.
